"What does 4/4 time mean?"
I have asked this question to many students. Most of them answered, "It means that there are four quarter notes in one measure." But when I asked them further, "So, in both 4/4 and 2/2 time, there are times when there are four quarter notes in one measure, but does that mean that 4/4 and 2/2 are the same?", they all looked confused.
A correct understanding of beats is an essential element in learning music. If you do not fully understand beats, the following problems may occur:
① Don't notice if you count the beats wrong
② You can't set the tempo correctly
3. Unable to express the original nature of the song
