Competition

This year, five students in my class tried out for the competition. All of them qualified and each received a prize, and two of them are currently preparing for the national competition.

There are many purposes for entering competitions, but one of them is to create an opportunity to perform on stage. Through the experience of standing on stage and performing in front of a large audience, we can learn many things that we could never gain from just practicing on a daily basis. When I was a junior high school student, one of my teachers once told me, “At your next recital, your goal should be to see how well you can listen to the notes you play. At the time, all I could think about was playing, but my teacher taught me an important lesson.

I want my students to experience performing on stage several times a year, and the competition is a great opportunity to do so.
